I believe that if we each choose love over fear, are true to ourselves, do what we enjoy and share it with others then the world will be a brighter place. My pen name encourages me to cocreate with the "Strength Of Love" in the world, listen to my heart and focus on passing along what flows through me to support nature and wildlife. Because when we come together with our own heart and soul, as well as others, we can create lovely things.
BOOKS & ILLUSTRATION:
To date I have illustrated 7 Children's Books and a Young Adult novel along with a wide variety of commercial illustration projects for advertising, events, product packaging, textiles, stationary, toys and gifts. I love collaborating with creative partners, and am organized to work within deadlines. While I enjoy every opportunity, I'm most fulfilled while writing and illustrating picturebooks so am currently focused on completing and promoting my own work.
EDUCATION & CAREER:
When I was little I wrote & illustrated a story about "how a skunk got it's stripe" then another about "how a tiger earned his stripes". Apparently I was a bit obsessed with stripes and set about earning my own. In high-school I started putting in extra effort on art projects and was lucky to win the Boston Globe Art Awards each year.
I went on to earn a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University while also studying advertising and design. My favourite class was a children's book illustration intensive – I knew immediately it was what I wanted to do more than anything.
From there my path lead to working in brand advertising as a successful Designer, Art Director then Creative Director – all the while freelancing, illustrating professionally and secretly concepting loads of picturebook stories which I'm finally crafting into book dummies.
I believe that every lesson in life is a gift and each experience has honed my grasp of concept, connection, craft and the commitment it takes to tell a good story in any medium.
AWARDS:
I'm grateful to have been recognized in Print Magazine, Communication Arts and Archive Magazine along with winning a Telly Award for an animated commercial.

// My paternal grandmother was from India of Portuguese decent. Her magical stories about panthers, monkeys and tigers sparked my young imagination and love of animals.
// My maternal grandmother in England was a direct mix of Irish and Scottish decent. She was an avid gardener and taught me to always look for 4-leaf clovers and the faith, hope, love and luck each leaf represents. Last year I found a 6-leaf clover which is supposed to bring extra luck and good fortune so I'm waiting patiently to see how that one works out. lol
// I was born in England, grew up in Canada and moved to the States as a teenager. Since then I've lived in Massachusetts, New York, Minnesota, and North Carolina.
// When I was little, my brother and I worked diligently at losing our British accents because we were teased at school for being new and different (by kids and some not-so-nice teachers). My Mum & Dad still have accents and if I spend a weekend with them it bubbles back out.
// My Dad invented a way to make biodegradable plastics out of plants - I grew up with him burying plastic forks in the yard and measuring how long they took to decompose.
// My Mum loves art and biology. When I was little, she brought home cows eyeballs from the butcher shop to dissect and teach me about the lens, cornea, pupil and retina, etc. It may sound gross but it was super interesting!
// I own a small hobby farm called "Picturebook Farm" where I work from a studio above the barn.
// I have an awesome donkey. His name is Theo and he loves coffee and strawberry danishes.
// I'm usually working or doing farm chores but In my free time I like riding horses, mountain biking, hiking, camping and skiing – basically anything outdoors with nature and animals. I also love art, science, reading, music, cooking and dancing around the kitchen, as well as traveling to new places and making new friends.
// Once I had the opportunity to try on a real spacesuit from the Apollo space mission!
// One of the highlights of my childhood was receiving my very own library card at 6 yrs old. As a shy kid, it was a golden ticket to new worlds and endless information. I've been hooked on books ever since.
Are you actually still reading this? Wow! You really ARE a curious person!
